Scrat? Never appears and you just wonder why a staple character was cut from a film series that had him as the face of it for so long. Big differences are that Pixar is still alive and Bardel Entertainment’s record shows that CG isn’t really their MO, especially without proper help (Note the animated Wimpy Kid film they made too). I’d compare this to Monsters At Work, the sequel tv series to Monsters Inc, and how you can tell it doesn’t quite have that Pixar level polish because it too was outsourced to another studio. Blue Sky had a great energy to its animation that is but a pale mimicry in this. The animation? Again, it’s not the worst but it’s noticeable and it doesn’t even stack up to the holiday specials that didn’t even have to try but they did. Sid’s voice is THE worst like jesus christ. The original cast? All gone aside from Simon Pegg which is why I say he carries this film because while the new voices aren’t bad, it is noticeably uncanny and forgettable. Fact that Scrat isn’t in this at all says a lot
